Low-Tide Walks
Every day the sea enters and reverses back to the ocean through the Wasini channel. This tidal surge supports the ecosystem of the mangroves that grow on the edge of the channel in the sand and rocks, hosting birds, crabs and a variety of marine life.
When the tide is low you can walk out towards the sea along the edge and explore the tidal pools and pass by returning spear fisherman who ply their trade in the channel, searching for octopus, lobsters and fish, then walk back along the sea edge to take their catch to the village market. You can negotiate and buy fresh seafood from them and have it cooked at the Lodge restaurant.
The cliffs along the shore host a coastal forest alive with birds and monkeys and add to the beauty of this nature paradise.
